Intelligence Suite
AI-Assisted Summarization Overview
The core value proposition of Case Digestor lies in its Intelligence Suite: AI-driven tools designed to parse legal decisions and convert them into structured, study-ready knowledge. Unlike generic chat tools, the engine is tuned for Philippine jurisprudence language and doctrine patterns.
The system acts as a high-quality first-pass researcher, helping you focus on doctrines, issues, and holdings without losing time in low-signal procedural detail.
Smart Insights and Modules
When you run an AI digest, the output is structured into legal-useful modules rather than generic prose. Core modules include:
- Issue Spotting: Automatically identifying the central legal questions the court addressed, separating primary issues from sidebars.
- Holdings and Rationale: A clear breakdown of what the court decided and, more importantly, why it decided that way, citing specific legal provisions or precedents.
- Case Timelines: For complex civil or criminal cases, the AI can help extract a chronological sequence of facts, making it easier to visualize the dispute’s progression.
- Doctrinal Distillation: The "North Star" of the digest—a concise statement of the law as clarified or reaffirmed by the case.
Credit-Aware Usage
Most Intelligence Suite actions are credit-aware. The exact cost may vary by plan and runtime configuration.
| Action | Typical economy behavior |
|---|---|
| Generate AI digest | Usually consumes credits |
| AI chat follow-up in legal assistant | May consume credits and may also be quota-limited |
| Legal search query | Typically credit-aware |
| Regeneration or AI-assisted expansion | Usually credit-aware when a new AI call is made |
| Reading saved digests/library browsing | Usually non-billable |
To see current rules for your account, use:
- Profile for current balance and usage breakdown.
- Get Credits page for top-up paths and plan options.
- Chat quota row/tooltips when using AI chat.
For the canonical user manual on credits, quotas, and tiers, see Resource Management.
Automatic Processing & Strict Adherence
Case Digestor uses specialized prompt architecture for legal accuracy. You are not required to micromanage the prompt for routine digestion; the engine automatically extracts relevant facts, issues, and rulings from the case structure.
Jurisprudence Only Policy
The system is exclusively designed for Philippine Supreme Court decisions (Jurisprudence).
The system employs content filters to detect non-jurisprudence material for case digestion. Any attempt to inject non-jurisprudence text will result in immediate account flagging and potential suspension.
Validation and Best Practices
In legal practice, AI must support professional judgment, not replace it. Use a human-in-the-loop workflow:
- Review for Nuance: AI is excellent at structure but may occasionally miss subtle legal nuances. Always cross-reference the AI-generated digest with the full text of the decision for critical pleadings or exams.
- Verify Citations: Ensure that the specific G.R. numbers and case names cited in the summary match the source material.
- Regenerate & Update: If a specific section (e.g., Issues or Ruling) feels incomplete, use the Update Digest feature to re-process that specific module with a more targeted prompt or context.
- Manage credits intentionally: Do exploratory reading first, then trigger AI generation when needed to avoid avoidable consumption.
- Acknowledge limitations: AI summaries may miss highly recent circulars/rule changes unless present in current retrieval context.
AI-generated legal summaries should never be cited in court without manual verification by a qualified legal professional. Accuracy is a collaborative effort between the system and your professional expertise.
