Network & Connection Issues
If you are experiencing issues accessing the Case Digestor PWA where the site simply fails to load, times out, or shows a "Cannot Reach Site" error, it may be due to how your internet service provider handles IP addresses.
This is a common occurrence for users on mobile networks or satellite internet.
The Cause: Shared IP Addresses (CGNAT)β
Many internet providers, including Starlink, DITO, Globe, and Smart, use a technology called Carrier-Grade NAT (CGNAT).
Because there is a global shortage of traditional (IPv4) IP addresses, these providers do not give you a unique, personal IP address. Instead, they place hundreds or even thousands of customers behind a single shared public IP address.
How this affects your access:β
If any user sharing your public IP address performs suspicious activities online (like spamming, web scraping, or making too many rapid requests), automated security firewalls on our end (and across the wider internet) will flag that IP address as malicious and ban it to protect the server.
When that shared IP gets banned:
- The bad actor is blocked.
- You are also blocked, simply because you share the same IP address as the bad actor.
This is why you might find that you cannot access the app while connected to Starlink, but the app loads perfectly fine the moment you switch to DITO or Globe mobile data (or vice versa). You are simply moving from a "banned" shared IP pool to a "clean" shared IP pool.
How to Fix Itβ
Since the block is happening at the network infrastructure layer, here are the steps you can take to regain access:
1. Switch to a Different Network (Immediate Workaround)β
The fastest way to regain access is to temporarily switch to a different network.
- If you are on a Starlink or Converge WiFi connection and it is failing, try using your mobile data (DITO, Smart, or Globe).
- If your mobile data is failing, connect to a local WiFi network.
2. Restart Your Router or Toggle Airplane Modeβ
IP addresses assigned by CGNAT are not permanent. You can often force your provider to assign you a new, clean IP address:
- For WiFi/Starlink: Unplug your router from the power outlet, wait for 10 to 15 minutes, and plug it back in. This extended downtime usually forces the network to give you a new IP lease.
- For Mobile Data (DITO, Globe, Smart): Turn on Airplane Mode on your phone for 30 seconds, then turn it off. This disconnects you from the cell tower and requests a new connection, often resulting in a new IP address.
3. Use a VPN (Virtual Private Network)β
Using a reputable VPN service (like NordVPN, ExpressVPN, or Cloudflare WARP/1.1.1.1) will route your traffic through a secure, private IP address that is not blacklisted.
- You can download the free 1.1.1.1 app by Cloudflare on your mobile device or computer to quickly bypass CGNAT-related blocks.
Is this a bug in Case Digestor?β
No. The Case Digestor platform is running normally. The connection drop happens before your request ever reaches our application logicβit is intercepted and dropped by cloud security firewalls designed to stop malicious bot traffic. Following the steps above will restore your access.
